Following the exhibition RAOUL SERVAIS. MEMORIES OF WAR in the In Flanders Fields Museum (31/01 - 31/05/2023), the King Baudouin Foundation published a new book including the manuscript that Raoul Servais wrote about his war memories.

As a young man, Servais experienced the Second World War. He escaped death a few times. He grew up with his mother's and uncles' stories of their memories of the First World War.

Both wars determined Servais' life. They turned him into an unyielding pacifist and formed an inexhaustible source of inspiration for his work, both cinematographically and visually.

With numerous illustrations by Raoul Servais.

The King Baudouin Foundation has a large part of Raoul Servais' works in safekeeping.
